Inulin, occur naturally in a great number of plants and vegetables, though the chicory
root is a particularly wealthy source. As it is extracted through hot water processing, chicory root is of 100 % vegetable origin. After extraction, purification takes place in order to meet even the highest quality requirements, including those for infant nutrition.

Unlike probiotics

which contain live organisms, prebiotics are specialized plant fibres that act as food for our gut microbiome. Prebiotics are found in many fruits and vegetables, especially those that contain complex carbohydrates, such as fibre and resistant starch. These carbohydrates are not digestible by the body, and are therefore able to pass through the stomach and make their way to the large intestines virtually intact, where they are then consumed by our good gut bugs. This process allows for the production of short-chain fatty acids that then nourish the cells lining the colon allowing for optimal gut function and a host of health benefits associated with this.

Our MaxD Nutrition Prebiotic Inulin

Our Inulin has a pleasant flavor with a mild sweetness with the benefit of no added sugar. It can be sprinkled over food, or added to hot or cold beverages. It also has a very low glycemic index, making it safe for those with diabetes or monitoring their blood glucose levels.

Your gut contains between 15,000 and 36,000 species of bacteria. Only a small portion of the bacteria in the body has the potential to be harmful. Good bacteria provide many health benefits. Inulin stimulates some of these bacteria to grow.

Inulin aids digestion by increasing the number of good bacteria in the gut, particularly Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli.

These bacteria help:

  • fend off unwanted pathogens (bad bacteria)
  • prevent infection
  • stimulate your immune system

Inulin also adds bulk to your stool and increases the frequency of your bowel movements. You may have more bowel movements, but inulin slows overall digestion. This enables your body to better absorb nutrients from the food you eat.

ResearchTrusted Source suggests inulin can also enable the body to better absorb calcium. Calcium creates a stronger skeletal system.

Nutritional benefits of Insulin:

Digestive Health: improving the balance of intestinal flora
Weight management: reduce food intake calories count – reduce fat content
Stronger bones: increase calcium absorption
